Restorative Justice

With the members of the Advisory Board, who provide oversight for the Detention Ministry Program within the Office of Public Policy and Social Concerns, 151+ volunteers participate in the Detention Ministry Program ministering to inmates in adult, juvenile, county and state detention facilities within the San Francisco Archdiocesan counties of Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo. Volunteers provide such services as: centering prayer, spiritual direction, communion services, bible study, healing touch and a pen pal program for death row inmates.

 

Upcoming Events

  • March 28, 2008
    On Friday, March 28, the California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice, created by the California State Senate, will hold its third and final public hearing on issues surrounding the fair administration of the death penalty in California. The public hearing will take place at Santa Clara University. Invited witnesses will include representitives of victims' organizations and advocacy groups concerned with the fairness of California's death penalty law.
