It is with great pleasure and pride that we acknowledge Vicki Evans, Coordinator of the Respect Life Program of the Office of Public Policy and Social Concerns, on her graduation from the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University, Rome, Italy. Vicki graduated just recently with a Licentiate in Bioethics summa cum laude (with highest honors.) Her thesis: Commercial Markets Created by Abortion: Profiting from the Fetal Distribution Chain, which synthesizes financial and bioethical issues, can be found at http://www.sflifeandjustice.org/respect_life.
Vicki spent over four years traveling back and forth to Rome and working long hours completing her courses in medicine, biology, law, theology and philosophy. She recently took part in the organization of a major international interfaith conference on bioethics in Jerusalem at the Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center. The conference was titled: International Conference on Culture of Life and Religion and Bioethics, Law and Religion in End of Life Issues.
Vicki has always been an important part of the pro-life movement and an essential leader for our Office and the Archdiocese. She now will be able to add her expertise in the difficult and complex issues of bioethics to our work.
CONGRATULATIONS, VICKI!
